  1. Our English Bull Terrier, Vera, is the best behaved girl. And she's rewarded for it every day, always at the same time, with a little treat. This has been her routine for years now, at least up until last week, when it slipped my mind. Well, I may have forgotten about it but Vera didn't. She was literally glued to my side, even through my rigorous exercises, sit-ups and all, just to remind me of my thoughtlessness. If she could only speak, she would have let me have it! But all she could do was to stick to my side like the good girl she is. And although a little late, of course she got her treat.

  2. Carrie,

Hi! Boy don't you wonder what Vera would have said to you? Not pretty. When people say animals are not intelligent they don't know what they are talking about. In fact those people are not intelligent. Our little companions bring so much joy and happiness to our worlds we are the ones who are fortunate.

    Thanks for sharing.

  3. Where shall I start?!
I have had animals all of my life, when I was 4 I had a faithful horse named Moses, a black and white lamb named Minnie Pearl, several goats, pigs, chickens, cats and a bird dog and a Chihuahua named Little Bit and ducks. They were my playmates and constant companions. I spent all day with all of them, from sunrise till sunset. My favorite duck Edward would come around to my window in the early mornings and quack until I woke up and then he would waddle around to the front door as fast as his big orange feet could carry him so I would let him in! He would sit with me until I finished breakfast and we would go out and play all day with all of the other animals! I talked to them all just like they were people and I know in my heart that they understood me and I understood them, each and every one! It was a wonderful childhood like a dream really, I have always had animals and have two at the moment, a 4 lb Chihuahua named Julliette and a quickly growing Bengal kitten named Alexandria!
